Microsoft has “no plans” to release an Xbox One without Kinect according to a representative in discussion with GameSpot.
In the article by Eddie Makuch on the GameSpot website, Microsoft says they “believe in Kinect“. The company has no plans to release an Xbox One without Kinect, quoted as saying:
“We have no plans to introduce an Xbox One without Kinect. We believe in Kinect and the value it brings to both games and entertainment, and believe $499 is a great value for what consumers receive with their Xbox One.”
With the Xbox 360 the motion-sensing camera known as Kinect was an add-on purchased separately, commissioned long after the release of the Xbox 360.
The Xbox One comes with a Kinect that is reportedly ten times more powerful than the previous model and capable of detecting facial structure, hair, skin colour, body composition and even expression.
Microsoft’s latest games console is set for release in November 2013 – the exact launch date will be revealed by Microsoft later this summer.
The following 17 games have been confirmed to be released on launch day: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Dead Rising 3, FIFA 14, Forza Motorsport 5, Just Dance 2014, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, LocoCycle, Madden NFL 25, NBA 2K14, NBA Live 14, Killer Instinct, Kinect Sports Rivals, Ryse: Son of Rome, Skylanders: Swap Force and Watch Dogs.
